Equipment & Adaptations
Adapting homes for life
We have been completing equipment & adaptations in peoples homes for over 60 years, working both with local authorities and private customers. Our priority is finding a way to ensure your home works for you now and in the future.
An adaptation specialist begins our journey with an initial assessment, and your OT is welcome to join us. Some of our team serve as Trusted Assessors to guide and support you.
We will get to know how you are currently managing and what it is you would like to achieve.
We will look at your home and take a variety of measurements to ensure any adaptations or equipment we suggest will work with your homes construction and surroundings.
Following our assessment we will design a solution, sometimes more than one. This will incorporate a 2D scale drawing, information on any equipment we recommend from our leading manufacturers, any associated building works that may be required and a quotation for the works involved along with an aftercare package.

Many home adaptations qualify for financial support through a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) from your local authority. Whether you own your home, rent privately, or live in a housing association property, you may receive full or partial funding for essential adaptations.
The DFG is a means-tested government grant worth up to £30,000 and is usually paid directly to the contractor or Home Improvement Agency (HIA) managing your project, such as Clark & Partners. It can fund everything from small adaptations like grab rails and bath seats to major works such as vertical lifts and ramps.
To start, contact your local authority (see links below). If you pass the means test, an Occupational Therapist (OT) will assess your needs and recommend suitable adaptations. We work alongside your OT, visiting your home, surveying the space, and providing tailored solutions and quotes to deliver the best outcome.
If you qualify for a DFG, an OT (Occupational Therapist) will assess your abilities in your own home and discuss the types of equipment that could help you.
Your OT may arrange a joint assessment with a company like ours to access specialist equipment and expertise. We will measure, survey, and design a modular ramping solution tailored to your property.
You may need to fund equipment & adaptations yourself if you fail the means test, as not everyone qualifies for a DFG. Or the length of time in the DFG process may mean you prefer to fund the adaptions yourself.
In these cases, it can be daunting figuring out what to do next. We can still measure, survey and design an adaptation for you directly.

We provide equipment & adaptations for many local authorities including Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Derby. Click the link below to find out how to apply with your local council.
Adapting your home often involves installing specialist equipment designed to improve accessibility, safety, and independence. Below, you’ll find details on the range of equipment we may explore and discuss with you as part of your home adaptation plan.
We can install individual pieces of equipment to address specific needs, or combine multiple solutions to create a seamless, integrated system that provides effortless access in and around your home. Our goal is to ensure every element works together to enhance your comfort, mobility, and quality of life.
