Fixed & Mobile Hoists

Safe and smooth movement around the home

Hoists

Hoists are used for the safe transportation of users who are unable to transfer unsupported. They enable smooth movement around the home, such as from a bed to a wheelchair. They become an essential part of home equipment for those unable to weight bear and require assistance moving around the home. Our systems are available as fixed track systems and mobile.

Fixed Hoists

A fixed track system fixes to either the ceiling or wall dependant on the surrounding structure. It is secured and tested to confirm its lifting capacity and safety. A track is fitted and the hoist attached which can run along the track and up and down. Having a ceiling track hoist reduces the requirement for manual lifting using a sling and working in conjunction with other equipment such as wheelchairs and beds to move a user around the home. Customer will often have more than one hoist in their home to enable support in various rooms of the home. Fixed hoists are available in a range of configuration from short straight tracks to complex routes with beds and room changes.

Mobile Hoists

A mobile hoist is one which can be used around the home on wheels, working in the same way as a ceiling hoist they are designed to transfer users from one area to another such as chair to bed. They are mobile and on wheels able to move around the home through doors and corridors.

Professionals

Having a mobile or fixed hoist can help assist with manoeuvrability around the home creating safe and smooth transfers between equipment and furniture. This really helps both the person and the carer helping with client moving and handling.

We work closely with healthcare professionals, such as Occupational Therapists, to help find solutions. We provide an inclusive home assessment of your home to determine suitability and fully understand the requirements and goals and we offer options using the most suitable equipment.

Slings

There is a wide variety of slings available dependant on the desired task and these can work with both mobile and fixed hoists. All of the hoists we supply work with loop slings. Many slings are for standard transfers such as chair to bed but there are other options to assist with bathing and toileting, these slings are designed to incorporate the activity. There are also different types of materials to assist with pressure related issues.

Service and Maintenance

Looking after a hoist in both a residential and commercial setting ensures that it is kept in safe and correct working order. Hoists in commercial settings also must comply with lifting regulations LOLER and require extra maintenance to do so. We offer a range of service contracts covering between 1 and 3 years.
