Pedal Extensions

Pedal extensions are a safe way of correcting your driving position if you are a shorter driver or have a condition that makes it hard to reach standard pedals. Sitting too close to the steering wheel can put the driver in danger due to the air bag, whilst stretching to reach the pedal can cause back and leg pain. Sitting further back allows the driver to have a better view of the road, also making driving safer.

Most makes and models are suitable for pedal extensions.

Usually, pedal extensions bring the pedals 3 inches closer to the driver. However, long pedal extensions can be also be fitted that can bring the pedal closer by 5 inches or more. They can be adjusted at the point of fitting so that they’re the perfect distance for the driver. They’re easily fitted and long pedal extensions can have a quick-release features so that another driver can use the original pedals without any hassle. However, the 3 inch extensions cannot be removed in this way, so it is worth considering whether anyone else will be driving the car and if they can do so with the modification. Most pedals don’t require the original pedals to be drilled. They can be fitted to just one or all pedals.

Long pedal extensions can include a foot rest so that the legs aren’t hanging over the pedals, giving greater control.
