More than three years after moving to it’s new location, our flagship Orgreave showroom has undergone a makeover and is finally ready to reveal its new look. To celebrate, the Sheffield mobility shop is exclusively giving its customers 10% off everything instore! From small household aids to road-legal mobility scooters, there’s savings to be had for the month of October.
When we moved our Orgreave showroom- along with our car adaptations garage, warehouse, engineers’ workshop and Head Office- we wanted to re-open quickly to ensure customers old and new could visit for anything they needed. With the pandemic finally behind us, we couldn’t wait for customers to return and try products out! As members of the British Healthcare Trades Association, we’ve always been committed to selling in person, to ensure it’s the right product for that individual. Did you know, for example, buying a riser recliner that isn’t the correct size can actually exasperate any existing conditions.
The new site had a free, spacious car park that also doubled up as space to test the latest scooters and powerchairs, and modular ramping for safe access to the showroom. But there were still some improvements we could make to make the new shop more accessible for our customers.
As well as wanting to create a bright and welcoming showroom that let you know instantly you were in a Clark & Partners showroom, our priority was to make the showroom easier to navigate. Ill-fitting carpets and narrow openings did not fit that brief. To put this right, this meant having to close the showroom temporarily. Fortunately, our Gleadless and Wickersley stores remained open and are relatively close to our Orgreave store, should customers want to try equipment or get an expert’s advice. And, as always, we had specialists who can demonstrate products at customers’ homes.
All work was carried out by our buildings team who are experienced in adapting properties to best serve the people- often with reduced mobility or who use mobility/medical equipment- who use the space. Doorways were widened (drastically in one case) to allow customers easier passage through with walkers and wheelchairs, or when accompanied by friends, family or carers who provide assistance. Not only that, but should the British weather be up to its usual tricks, the new space would give more room to try powerchairs, wheelchairs and even scooters.
To optimise the light in the space, all-but-one wall was painted bright white. In fact our Orgreave retail assistance showed she can turn her hand to more than giving great product advice, as she picked up the paint roller. A brand new carpet was laid and customers would be welcomed by the sight of the Clark’s red on wall opposite the entrance.
Our doors were flung open once again in summer 2024. Customers preferring to visit our Orgreave Sheffield mobility store could chat with our friendly experts face-to-face. With our wide range including everything from reachers to comfy rise and recline chairs, customers could discover the ideal product for them in a purpose-designed showroom.
