Manual Wheelchairs

Manual Wheelchairs

Non Powered Wheelchairs

Manual wheelchairs are non-powered wheelchairs that require either the person using the chair to propel themselves or a friend, family member or carer to push from behind. There is a large range of manual wheelchairs suitable for a variety of different uses. We can help guide you through the range and find the best solution for your needs.

Non prescriptive manual wheelchairs

Perfect for short intermittent journeys, taking a family member to the shop or out for lunch for example. These wheelchairs can be bought directly on our website by clicking here but we do recommend visiting and buying from one of our stores, that way you get expert advice from our store team members.

Prescriptive manual wheelchairs

Manual wheelchairs which require additional features such as pressure or postural supports. These wheelchairs have more regular daily use, are more robust and are usually bespoke to clients needs as well as sizing. An assessment is always required for a prescriptive manual wheelchair.

Experts

Working with leading manufacturers keep us up to date on the vast range of products and options available as well as comprehensive training on equipment and user requirements. This allows us to offer expert guidance to help find the right wheelchair for you.

Assessments

Complex and prescriptive wheelchairs and powerchairs require an assessment with one of our experts. Assessments can be carried out at your home or in one of our stores. An assessment allows you to try a product and specify a chair to your exact requirements.

BHTA

We are proud to be accredited by the British Healthcare Trade Association (BHTA) to be a member we must fulfil their requirements and follow the guidance they set to provide excellent customer service and detailed assessments and aftercare.

Aftercare

Our head office location is based in Sheffield and we offer assessment regionally within Yorkshire and North Derbyshire. Staying local allows us to offer the best possible aftercare to our customers.

Funding

Help with funding

There are a variety of ways you can get help with funding your wheelchair, there are a variety of charities that can help as well as options such as finance. Other options may be through your local wheelchair services provider who can offer personal wheelchair budgets (PWB). In some cases, the service will provide a free wheelchair under their scheme, in others they provide a voucher instead. We work with our local NHS providers to accept these vouchers to either fully cover or contribute towards a wheelchair of your choice.

Aftercare

Our team are on hand to offer support and advice should you have any issues with your chair after it is delivered. We offer a range of servicing and maintenance options which we recommend to keep your chair in good working order. There are also a range of insurance packages available to give you complete peace of mind.
