Bathroom adaptations
Book a home visit and we’ll create the perfect bathroom for you
When self-care at home becomes challenging and everyday activities such as bathing or toileting are hard to achieve, it often encourages us to have difficult conversations about the future. This can include deciding whether to move and leave our homes behind. However, it is good to know that there are a range of options available to encourage safe self-care at home and help when family members or professionals are assisting with care.
Some bathing challenges can be resolved with simple supportive aids such as bath steps or lifts. But when additional support is needed, adapting your bathroom into a wet room or adding a level access shower area can be a great way to remain more independent at home.
Sometimes where space is limited a shower pod might be the right choice.
Wash and dry toilets can promote user independence when additional support is required. The toilet is programmed to complete a full cycle to wash and dry the user before they exit the facility. This often minimises the need for additional toileting support.
We can offer a range of solutions including half-height shower doors that offer privacy but also easy carer access. Other options include changing benches, swing-away sinks and high / low baths. Our team can fit wash dry toilets such as the Geberit or Closomat. Even a ceiling hoist with a complete room coverage system to allow access to all equipment, can be provided.
Working with leading manufacturers such as AKW and Guldmann, we are able to bring you cutting-edge technology and enable at-home solutions.
Our team of experts are on hand to help with your queries. There are many options and finding the right one for you, your family, carers and that suits your home and environment, can be overwhelming. As Trusted Assessors we understand all the complexities and work with you to find a solution.
An initial assessment is required for all bathing and toileting enquiries; sometimes we will visit with you more than once. If you have a healthcare professional assisting you, we recommend talking to them too. An assessment will allow us to really understand your challenges and your goals. And we will do a thorough survey of your property to ensure any solutions we suggest are feasible.
